A state of emergency has been declared in parts of New Jersey.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issued a state of emergency for several counties earlier this evening, due to the approaching storm bringing "heavy snow, sleet, freezing rain, high wind gusts, and freezing temperatures."
The declaration, which will go into effect in less than three hours at 22:00 local time (03:00 GMT), enables rapid deployment of resources, according to the governor's office.
The affected counties include Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem.
Murphy also reiterated his advice to avoid travel during this hazardous weather.
In addition, states such as Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, and Arkansas have also declared a state of emergency.
